Control system of speed (темпостат) - general information and check of serviceability of functioning
Tempostat allows to support automatically chosen cruiser speed of the movement of the car. The electric servomotor of a tempostat is located in a motive compartment and is connected by a cable to the accelerator pedal. The sensor switch of stoplights, ECU of a tempostat, switches of management and the sensor of speed of the movement of the car are among other main components of system. Check of separate functions of system demands use of the special diagnostic equipment, and its performance lies outside qualification of the average amateur mechanic. The description of procedures only of the most general checks allowing to establish the reasons of the most typical refusals of a tempostat is given below.
Find a safety lock of a tempostat and check its state (see the Section Safety locks and fusible inserts - the general information).
Ask the assistant to squeeze out several times a pedal of a foot brake - operation of the sensor switch of stoplights reacting to squeezing of a pedal has to lead to shutdown of a tempostat.
If stoplights do not react to squeezing of a pedal, find out a cause of failure and repeat check of serviceability of functioning of a tempostat.

Visually estimate a condition of the driving cable laid from assembly of the servomotor/amplifier of a tempostat to draft of a butterfly valve. Replace the damaged or worn-out cable. In case of need make adjustment of a cable which is made also as well as adjustment of a cable of gas (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). |
Monitoring of signals of the sensor of speed of the movement of the car is the basis for functioning of a tempostat. The sensor of speed is placed in transmission, the description of check of serviceability of its functioning is provided in the Head of the Control system of the engine of the present manual.

Before starting check of a tempostat make sure of serviceability of functioning of a horn via which relay in system food moves. |
Make trial runs of the car. If it was not succeeded to eliminate violation of functioning of a tempostat during the made corrections, drive away the car on car repair shop for more detailed diagnostics of system with use of the special equipment. |
