CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT

The distributor with the contact breaker

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The distributor design with the contact breaker is presented on an accompanying illustration.
2. Before adjustment it is necessary to check a condition of contacts. At an insignificant podgoraniye contacts should be smoothed out a fine-grained emery paper, in case of detection of noticeable defects - to replace.
3. Cleaning of contacts is made by means of a diamond file of insignificant thickness. Try to achieve absolute parallelism of the interfaced surfaces. Camber of one contact should be eliminated completely, without choosing deepening on another. Upon completion of cleaning wipe contacts with the rags moistened in gasoline.
4. Malfunction of the condenser, weakening of fastening of motionless contact or an occasion of grounding of the breaker are among the main reasons of a strong podgoraniye of contacts. Surely check quality of ground contacts for the mass of the engine.
5. Turn a bent shaft so that there was a full combination of contacts and measure gap size between them. Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, in case of need weaken the fixing screw and, contact shift by means of the screw-driver, achieve the required value.
6. Tighten the screw and repeat check.
7 Now it is necessary to make check of duration of the closed condition of contacts (on an angle of rotation of a bent shaft). Prepare the special measuring instrument between a negative conclusion of the coil of ignition and weight. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Adjust idling turns.
8. Disconnect a vacuum hose from assembly of the vacuum regulator and perform measurement of an angle of stay of contacts of the breaker in the closed state. The required value makes 52 ° (on an angle of rotation of a bent shaft). In case of need make the corresponding adjustment by adjustment of size of a gap between contacts.
9. For reduction of a corner it is necessary to increase a gap, for increase - to reduce. For various models the required size of a corner of the closed condition of contacts of the breaker can be various of range 49 ° ÷ 55 °.
10. Parallel to the contact breaker the condenser which together with primary winding of the coil of ignition forms an oscillatory contour is switched on. At the time of disconnection of a chain the condenser is charged with current of a self-induction of primary winding that promotes increase in speed of decrease of a magnetic flux, i.e. increase in tension in a secondary winding. Absorption of current of a self-induction at the time of a rupture of a chain reduces sparking between contacts of the breaker therefore reliability of system considerably increases.
11. Breakdowns of the condenser lead to failure of ignition and violation of NV of a contour. Signs of malfunction of the condenser are interruptions in operation of the engine and a considerable podgoraniye of contacts of the breaker.
12. For check of the condenser it is necessary to perform measurement of its capacity, but it is possible to use also a usual tester, having transferred it to the mode of measurement of high-resistance resistance. If the arrow of the device sharply deviates, and then smoothly comes back to a starting position, therefore, the condenser functions regularly. The zero or constantly decreasing indication confirms need of replacement of the condenser
13. There is one more the elementary a way of check of a condition of the condenser: at the included ignition manually open contacts of the breaker, - if at the same time the spark is formed, so the condenser is damaged.
14. Do not leave for a long time included in ignition at the killed engine. If at the time of inclusion of ignition contacts of the breaker are in the closed state (the probability of such situation is rather high), the proceeding current can result from strong heating otpuskany springs of a hammer of the breaker with loss of its elasticity. At the same time on high turns the spring ceases to provide sharpness of short circuit of contacts with the required frequency. Interruptions in operation of the engine result that usually is followed by cottons in system of production of the fulfilled gases.
15. Insufficiency of size of a gap in contacts of the breaker is shown in interruptions in operation of the engine in the deseleration mode. Weakening of fastening of the distributor, the contour NV contact sockets, and also contact in the ignition switch is in the same way shown).
16. Decrease in size of a gap in contacts on 0:01 mm corresponds to change (increase) of duration of the closed condition of contacts by 1 degree.
17. Increase in a gap in contacts of the breaker leads to violation of stability of high turns of the engine.


Distributor of transistor system of ignition

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The design of the distributor of transistor system of ignition is presented on an illustration.
2. As routine maintenance of the distributor periodically you make check and adjustment of an air gap of the generator of signals.
3. Remove a cover and the runner of the distributor. Turn a bent shaft so that there was a combination of tooth of an alarm rotor with a ledge of the generator of signals and measure a gap between them by means of the probe of lezviyny type. Nominal range makes 0.2 ÷ 0.4 mm.
4. For adjustment of a gap weaken two fixing screws and turn the generator of signals in the relevant party, then tighten screws.
5. Before installation of the runner and a cover check also a condition of segments of a cover and the central electrode. In case of need make replacement.
6. For dismantling of the distributor remove it from the car. Remove the runner and the plastic dustproof screen. Remove a sealing ring from a case rim. Turn out two fixing screws and remove assembly of the generator of signals with an electrical wiring.
7. Turn out the fixing screw, release a clamp and the lever and remove assembly of the vacuum regulator.
8. Turn out two fixing screws and remove a breaker plate.
9. Mark the adjusting provision of springs of the regulator and remove them from assembly.
10. Remove a maslootrazhatel from the top part of a rotor, turn out the fixing screw and remove an alarm rotor.
11. Mark the adjusting provision of spring lock rings and small weights of the centrifugal regulator, remove components.
12. Clear components and check their state. Replace defective parts.

13. At considerable wear of a driving gear wheel of a shaft of the distributor cut or cut off the rasklepanny end of a lock pin, then record knot and beat out a pin.

14. Assembly is made upside-down. At installation of a shaft with a gear wheel achieve combination of openings of the holder of the bearing and the case, establish a shaft and screw two fixing screws.
15. Achieve combination of openings under a pin in a gear wheel and a shaft. Hammer a new pin and a rasklepayta its ends. Track combination of tags on gear wheels and an alarm rotor.

16. Slightly oil a regulator shaft pure motive, establish it on an alarm rotor and achieve combination of a tag with a lock pin.

17. Establish small weights with bearings, fix components by lock rings.

 Small weights have to be established strictly on the former places. Establish springs of the centrifugal regulator on the former places.

18. Screw and tighten the screw of fastening of an alarm rotor. Fill lubricant deepening, establish a maslootrazhatel (cap). Establish into place a breaker plate. Establish assembly of the vacuum breaker.
19. Install the generator of signals, screw, but do not tighten up to the end, fixing screws. Achieve combination of tooth of an alarm rotor a generator ledge, adjust gap size, then finally tighten screws.
20. Install the dustproof screen, a sealing ring and the runner of the distributor. Install the distributor on the engine.

 The sealing ring has to get to reception deepening at a distributor end face.

21. Check serviceability of functioning of the vacuum proofreader for what create depression on an entrance of its diaphragm by means of the manual vacuum pump, - the lever of the regulator has to move at change of depth of depression.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

 If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. At the corresponding complete set remove the filter from a distributor cover. Pay attention that the plug of connection of a candle wire of the first cylinder on a cover of the distributor is marked with the acting digital tag in the form of 1.

 On some distributors of such tag it can be not provided.

3. Disconnect the main electric socket and the contact socket of grounding from the distributor.
4. Uncover the distributor (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). Turn the engine for a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft so that the runner of the distributor was deployed towards position of the plug of a candle wire of the first cylinder on a cover (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)).
5. Apply a tag of provision of a nose of the runner on a distributor case rim. Also mark the provision of the basis of the case of the distributor concerning a surface of a head of cylinders.

6. Turn out clamping a fixing bolt and take assembly of the distributor from a head of cylinders.

 Try not to allow engine provorachivaniye at the removed distributor as at the same time the marking put in the course of dismantle of components will lose meaning.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the distributor on the regular place in a head of cylinders. Track combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle.
2. For introduction to gearing of driving gear wheels of the camshaft and a shaft of the distributor, perhaps, it is necessary to rotate the assembly case slightly. Track completeness of landing of the distributor in a head. Once again make sure of correctness of combination of landing tags.

 If at the removed distributor the provorachivaniye of a bent shaft was made, it is necessary to bring the engine into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression again (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)).

3. Freely screw clamping a bolt of fastening of the distributor.
4. Establish a cover of the distributor and strongly tighten screws of its fastening.
5. Connect an electrical wiring to the distributor.
6. If removed, connect wire VV to corresponding ignitions.
7. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
8. Check correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment (see the Section Check and adjustment of installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition), then finally tighten clamping a bolt of fastening of the distributor. At the corresponding complete set install the distributor cover filter.
