System of ignition - the general information and precautionary measures

The system of ignition serves for ignition in the fullness of time to the air-fuel mix given to combustion chambers of the engine. This task is carried out due to generation of a high-voltage electric arch between electrodes screwed in each of cylinders of spark plugs.

Models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue.

On models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue the SOHC engine equipped with the electronic system of ignition consisting of the distributor placed in it the sensor of position of the camshaft, the power transistor, the coil of ignition, the resistance-capacitance assembly and a connecting electrical wiring of BB and HB of contours is installed.

The sensor of position of the camshaft gives basic signals on the onboard processor exercising the general control of functioning of system of ignition. Determines such critical parameters of the engine as frequency of its rotation and position of pistons in cylinders by information of RSM arriving from the sensor and calculates the required moment and duration of operation of each of fuel injection injectors. The sensor of position of the camshaft consists of a rotor plate and a set of light and photo diodes. The sensor develops a signal of a sinusoidal form. On the basis of the analysis of characteristics of this signal of RSM develops teams of management of functioning of system of ignition. The power transistor serves for strengthening of the signal of ignition and instant grounding of primary contour of the coil of ignition developed by the processor which secondary winding at this moment develops VV the signal sent on special wires of big section via the distributor to spark plugs.

RSM accepts a set of signals from various sensors and on the basis of the analysis of the arriving information, via the power transistor and the coil of ignition exercises control of such parameters as distribution and a corner of an advancing of ignition (for more details see in the Head of the Control system of the engine).

RSM on the basis of the signals arriving from the detonation sensor exercises also control of efficiency of ignition of air-fuel mix, correcting as required an ignition advancing corner. Use of the sensor of a detonation allows system to support an ignition advancing corner at the maximum level, providing thereby optimum conditions for functioning of the power unit and allowing to achieve the greatest efficiency of return from the engine at the minimum fuel consumption.

In VV candle wires the coal conductor imprisoned in a rubber insulating shirt and an external silicone protective tube is used. Wires of such design are capable to maintain high temperatures, providing at the same time reliable isolation of the conductor on which VV current is passed. Silicone tips provide tightness of landing of the VV plugs of wires on shafts of spark plugs. Before a wire detachment from a candle it is necessary to turn half way a tip (for more details see in the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

Models since 1995 of the issue.

Since 1995 on the Nissan Maxima cars began to install the system of direct ignition working without distributor. Six individual coils connected directly to the corresponding spark plugs are a part of system. RSM defines an ignition order on the basis of the signals arriving from sensors of provision of distributive and cranked shaft. Besides, the module of management constantly accepts signals from some other the information sensors which are continuously tracing working parameters of the engine, and on the basis of the analysis of the arriving data, develops optimum installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition.

The detonation sensor also is a part of system that allows RSM to maintain optimum value of a corner of an advancing of ignition.
