Removal and installation of the main section of the dashboard

PERFORMANCE ORDER

The models of cars considered in the present manual are equipped with system of additional safety (SRS). Before starting performance of any works near the block of a safety cushion, a steering column or the dashboard, disconnect SRS in order to avoid getting injured at its casual operation (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). It is easy to distinguish an electrical wiring of a chain of SRS on yellow color of isolation.

The procedure of dismantle of the dashboard is submitted rather difficult and its performance will be more correct to be charged to specialists of car service.

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove the central console (see the Section Removal and installation of the central console).
3. Remove sections of a casing of a steering column (see the Section Removal and installation of sections of a casing of a steering column).
4. Remove facing of an instrument guard (see the Section Removal and installation of finishing sections of the dashboard).
5. Remove an instrument guard (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
6. Remove finishing sections of the dashboard (see the Section Removal and installation of finishing sections of the dashboard)
7. Remove the radio receiver and the control panel of functioning of the heater/conditioner of air (see Chapters of the Cooling system, heating and Onboard electric equipment).

8. Remove forward overlays of thresholds of both forward doors. Slips fasten by means of clamps and for office it is rather simple to hook them the suitable tool.

9. Remove panels of finishing of racks of a windshield.

10. Assembly of a passenger safety cushion fastens to a back part of the dashboard. Disconnect the corresponding electrical wiring, turn out bolts of fastening of the lower part of the module of a safety cushion to an intensifying beam of the dashboard.

Bolts have heads like TORX, are sealed up and are given/drag on by means of a special key.

11. Having hooked, remove deflectors of an obduv of a windshield and turn out the top bolts of fastening of the dashboard located under them.

12. Release other fixture and disconnect all electrical wiring brought to the elements of management which are built in in the panel. Delay the panel back and take it from the car.

13. In the central part of a basic arm of the panel of devices / console assembly remove the body module of management (VSM), - previously mark all electrical wiring brought to the module. Remove also ESM (see the Head of the Control system of the engine).

14. Having given the top and lower fixture, remove two vertical basic arms located in the central part of an intensifying beam. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the internal assembly block of safety locks and the lever of an otpuskaniye of the lock of a cowl from an intensifying beam.

15. Lower a steering column, having taken away it from an intensifying beam of the dashboard (see the Section Removal and installation of the heat exchanger of a heater).
16. Mark and disconnect the electrical wiring brought to the intensifying dashboard of a beam. Turn out fixing bolts, incline a beam and take it from the car (the right end forward).

17. Installation is made upside-down.
