Check of a state and replacement of the sensor of provision of a bent shaft (ICR)

On models since 1995 issues are used two sensors of ICR, one of which (REF sensor) is established in a forward part of the power unit, on aluminum section of the pallet of a case of the engine, directly under a pulley of a bent shaft. Also serves for determination of quantity of grooves of the rotor sensor of a pulley of a bent shaft in relation to provisions of VMT of the piston of each of cylinders (a signal 120 °). The second sensor (POS) also is on aluminum section of the pallet, but from the back party of the power unit, near a dome of transmission and serves for determination of frequency of rotation of a shaft (a signal 1 °). Both sensors consist of a permanent magnet, the core and a wire winding. Change of a gap involves change of parameters of magnetic field in close proximity to the sensor that, in turn leads to change of amplitude of the alarm tension given by the sensor on RSM. RSM uses information arriving from sensors of ICR at corrections of installations of a corner of an advancing of ignition, synchronization of injection and detection of admissions of ignition.

CHECK

 Implementation of the procedure described below can lead to entering in memory of OBD of malfunction which will be highlighted by a control lamp "Check the engine". Upon completion of check and the corresponding recovery repair do not forget to clear memory of system (see the Section System of Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) - the principle of functioning and codes of malfunctions).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disunite the socket of an electrical wiring of the sensor and connect an ohmmeter to contact plugs. At a temperature of 20 °C the required resistance makes 470 ÷ 570 Ohms. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement. If the result of measurement conforms to nominal requirements, address schemes of electric connections (see the Head Onboard electric equipment) and check serviceability of a condition of an electrical wiring on the site of a chain between the sensor and RSM. Make sure of lack of signs of violation of quality of grounding of a black wire of a plait of an electrical wiring of the sensor. If it is not possible to reveal any violations, the car should be driven away on car repair shop for performing diagnostics of a condition of RSM and performance of the corresponding recovery repair.

Sensor of ICR of POS

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor. Include ignition. make sure available battery tension on the plug of a red wire of the socket from a plait. If tension is absent, check a condition of an electrical wiring on the site of a chain between the ECCS relay and the battery (do not forget to check first of all a condition of safety locks). Check serviceability of a condition of the ECCS relay and the electrical wiring going from it to the sensor (see schemes of electric connections at the end of the Head Onboard electric equipment). Make sure available tension with an amplitude of 5.0 V on the plug of a white wire. If tension is absent, check a condition of a chain on the site between RSM and the sensor. At a serviceable chain drive away the car on car repair shop for performing diagnostics of a condition of RSM and performance of the corresponding recovery repair. Make sure also of lack of signs of violation of quality of grounding of a black wire of a plait.
2. Remove the sensor. Switch off ignition and connect its electrical wiring to the sensor. Connect the positive probe of the voltmeter to the plug of a black wire from a reverse side of the socket (more detailed than cm the Head Onboard electric equipment). Ground the negative probe on weight. Include ignition. For a moment touch a sensor nose with a metal object (like the screw-driver). At the time of contact the voltmeter has to register the indication of 5.0 Century. At removal of metal amplitude of a signal has to reduce to zero quickly. The faulty sensor is subject to replacement. Remark: In rare instances violation of integrity of a gear wreath of a flywheel / a driving disk can appear the reason of introduction of a code of malfunction.

REPLACEMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor.
2. Turn out a fixing bolt and remove the sensor. Installation is made upside-down.
