System of catching of fuel evaporations (EVAP) - the general information, check of a state and replacement of components

General information

The EVAP system accumulates the fuel evaporations accumulating in a power supply system during the parking of the car and provides a conclusion them to the inlet highway for burning in the course of normal functioning of the engine. The special adsorber filled with absorbent carbon which, actually, and collects in itself(himself) fuel evaporations surely is a part of any EVAP system. The adsorber is connected by tubes to the fuel tank, besides, the design of system provides a possibility of giving in a depression adsorber from inlet port of the engine and the inlet pipeline

When the engine is killed, the fuel evaporations accumulating in a gasoline tank, the case of a throttle and the inlet pipeline on connecting tubes are removed in a coal adsorber where are stored till engine launch. At start of the engine the adsorber is blown and the evaporations which accumulated in it are taken away to the inlet highway from where come to combustion chambers.

On models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue, and also on models of 1995 вып, the federal legislations getting under action, the vacuum valve switch of management of a purge is installed from above on an adsorber. On the Californian models of 1995 of the issue and all models since 1996 the issue is used the electronic valve of management of an adsorber purge working at the command of RSM. Also locking valve allowing to stop an adsorber purge on single turns and during braking by the engine is a part of an electronic control system.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Faulty functioning of the valve of an uparvleniye a purge, and also leads mechanical damage of a coal adsorber or connecting lines to violation of stability of turns of idling, spontaneous stops of the engine and decrease in efficiency of its return.
2. At the increased fuel consumption, and also at emergence of a distinct smell of the gasoline getting into interior of the car it is necessary to check a condition of fuel lines first of all. Make sure of lack of signs of mechanical damage of an adsorber.
3. Check a condition of the hoses brought to an adsorber. Execute necessary replacements.
4. Replace the burst adsorber (see below).
5. Make sure of lack of traces of leaks under a coal adsorber. In case of need replace the failed assembly. track correctness of connection and laying of hoses.

Replacement of a coal adsorber

All models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue and federal models of 1995 of the issue.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully mark and disconnect all vacuum hoses brought to an adsorber.

2. Turn out fixing bolts and remove an adsorber from a basic arm.

3. Installation is made upside-down.

The Californian models of 1995 of the issue and all models since 1996 of the issue.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

On these models the coal adsorber of EVAP is located in the left part of the car, behind the fuel tank.

1. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.
2. Carefully mark and disconnect all vacuum lines from an adsorber.
3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove an adsorber.
4. Installation is made upside-down.
