Check and adjustment of turns of idling

Turns of idling is called the frequency of rotation of the engine at the released accelerator pedal (for example, at a stop on the traffic light). This parameter is critical grindings of sight of efficiency of return of the engine and functioning of its many subsystems. Before starting measurement of turns, make the following checks:

a) Check passability of the filtering air cleaner element;
b) Check an inlet air path for existence of signs of leaks;
c) Make sure of lack of signs of losses of depression through vacuum hoses;
d) Check a condition of the battery and serviceability of functioning of system of ignition, including installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance);
e) Check fuel pressure (see the Section Check of Serviceability of Functioning of the Fuel Pump, measurement of pressure of fuel);
f) Check compression pressure in cylinders (see the Part the General capital repairs of the engine of the Head Dvigatel);
g) Check a condition of the EGR and EVAP systems (see the Head of the Control system of the engine);
h) Check TPS adjustment (see the Head of the Control system of the engine);
i) Check onboard system of self-diagnostics for existence of the codes of malfunctions which are written down in memory (see the Head of the Control system of the engine).

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. According to instructions of manufacturers connect a manual tachometer to the engine.

On models since 1995 the issue where the system of ignition without distributor for connection of a tachometer is used is provided the special socket which is switched on in an electrical wiring plait in the right part of a motive compartment.

2. Reliably cock the parking brake and prop up antiretractable boots back wheels. Transfer transmission to situation "P" or "N". Disconnect everything consumers of the electric power. On models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue remove the panel of access to RSM (see the Head of the Control system of the engine).
3. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Having established the frequency of rotation of the engine in 2000 rpm, three times quickly lift it to value of 3000 rpm, then let's the engine work within about a minute on single turns.
4. On models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue turn out the selector of the choice of the modes on RSM wall against the stop clockwise (see the Head of the Control system of the engine).
5. On models since 1995 of the issue kill the engine and disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS) (see the Head of the Control system of the engine). Again start the engine and lift the frequency of its rotation to value over 3000 rpm three times, having in conclusion returned to single turns.
6. Read out value of turns of idling from a tachometer and compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications or data of a label of VECI.

In case of discrepancies preference should be given to data of VECI.

ADJUSTMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At excessively low or high turns of idling it is necessary to make their adjustment by means of the special adjusting screw.

You do not make attempts to adjust idling turns by means of the lock screw having factory installation located on the throttle case.

2. On models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue turn against the stop counterclockwise the selector of the choice of the RSM modes, then kill the engine.
3. On models since 1995 of the issue kill the engine and connect an electrical wiring to TPS.
4. Disconnect a tachometer.
