The power supply system consists of the fuel tank placed in it the electric fuel pump, the fuel pressure regulator (near the pump), the main EFI relay, the relay of the fuel pump (the relay of opening of a contour), the fuel highway with injectors of injection, assembly of the air cleaner and case of a throttle. All models described in the present manual are equipped with electronic system of the distributed fuel injection.

System of the distributed fuel injection

In the considered system for management of injection of fuel through injectors directly to the inlet port of each of combustion chambers of the engine electric impulses of accurately limited duration are used. The moment and duration of time of opening of each of injectors controls the module of management of functioning of the power unit (RSM). RSM continuously traces various working parameters of the engine and on the basis of the arriving information determines the required volume of the fuel injected into each of inlet ports. The throttle case in this case serves only for management of giving in an air power supply system. In view of the fact that each of cylinders is equipped with own injector, this scheme provides a possibility of very exact management of composition of air-fuel mix.

Fuel pump and fuel pipes

Supply of fuel from a gasoline tank in system of injection and return of its surplus back in a gasoline tank is carried out on two metal lines laid under the car bottom. The submersible electric fuel pump is located in a gasoline tank and is united in uniform assembly with fuel consumption sensor block. The system of return of fuel evaporations carries out removal of vapors of fuel back in a gasoline tank on the separate returnable line.

The relay of the fuel pump consists of two windings (primary and secondary). RSM operates functioning of primary contour, food in a secondary contour moves directly from the battery via the ignition switch. At the included ignition (do not start the engine) RSM provides a 5-second zapityvaniye of the relay. At the time of a provorachivaniye of the RSM engine gives food on the relay until the sensor of position of the camshaft does not give the corresponding signal (see the Head of the Control system of the engine). In the absence of basic impulses within five seconds there is a shutdown of the fuel pump.

On the Californian models of 1995 of the issue, and also on all models 1996 and 1997 of of the issue the module of management of functioning of the fuel pump is provided. The module provides undervoltage of power supply of the pump, in all cases when the engine works without loading. The module is located in the luggage compartment under assembly of the left combined lamp. The lowering resistor is switched on in an electrical wiring plait in close proximity to the module.

System of production of the fulfilled gases

The system of production of the fulfilled gases consists of final collectors, the reception pipe equipped with the oxygen sensor, the catalytic converter(s), the muffler and an exhaust pipe. On models since 1995 the issue provided two primary oxygen sensors, two heated catalytic converters and one secondary oxygen sensor.
