Removal and installation of the pallet of a case of the engine

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Cock the parking brake and prop up antiretractable boots back wheels of the car.
3. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.
4. Remove protection of a case and the right cover.
5. Remove a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
6. Merge motive oil (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

7. The pallet of a case consists of two sections. The lower steel stamped cover fastens to the top aluminum section which in turn a pribolchena to the engine block. Moving as it should be the return shown on an illustration, turn out fixing bolts and remove the lower stamped section of the pallet.

8. Remove the air conditioner compressor (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating) and shift it aside, without disconnecting refrigerator lines. Remove an assembly bracket of fastening of a basic arm of the compressor to the pallet.

9. Hang out the engine from above by means of the winch or a beam.

Take care of reliability of fixing of the unit in the lifted situation.

10. Turn out through bolts of forward and back support of a suspension bracket of the power unit and bolts of fastening of a cross beam. Remove a beam from the car assembled with support. Remove an oil filter.

11. Turn out fastening bolts to aluminum section of the pallet of a plate of a back cover and a dome of transmission.

12. Moving from edges to the center as it should be the return to a tightening order, turn out bolts of fastening of the top aluminum section of the pallet to the engine block.

13. For separation of aluminum section of the pallet from the block hook it under the groove provided from the forward party in casting. Try not to damage the interfaced surfaces.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully clear the interfaced surfaces of aluminum section of the pallet and the block of the engine, having completely removed from them traces of material of old laying and sealant. Wipe the smoothed-out surfaces with the rags moistened in acetone.

In order to avoid development of leaks try not to damage the interfaced surfaces in the course of their cleaning.

2. Make sure of absoluteness of purity of carving openings in the block of the engine and aluminum section of the pallet, - in case of need banish them a tap of the suitable size.
3. Grease with RTV sealant end faces of sealing laying of a forward cover of the GRM drive, then lay laying on aluminum section of the pallet. Grease with the same sealant a landing flange of aluminum section.

The pallet has to be installed on the engine within 15 minutes after sealant imposing.

4. Establish on the places on a forward wall of the engine and a casing of the oil pump new sealing rings.

5. Trying not to destroy a sealant pillow, carefully press aluminum section of the pallet to the block. Screw fixing bolts and, working in strictly certain order, tighten them in three-four receptions with the required effort.

6. Screw bolts of fastening of a plate of a back cover and a dome of transmission.
7. Check a flange of stamped lower section of the pallet for existence of signs of deformations, paying special attention to a condition of a flange around fixing openings. In case of need align a flange, having laid it on the flat wooden block.

8. Impose a pillow of RTV sealant on the interfaced pallet flange surface and install the pallet on the engine.

The pallet has to be installed within 15 minutes after sealant imposing. Working in strictly certain order, tighten bolts of fastening of the pallet with the required effort.

9. Further installation is made as it should be the return to an order of dismantle of components.
10. Let's sealant dry up within about 30 minutes, then establish a new oil filter and fill in fresh engine oil in the unit. Start the engine and check pressure of motive oil. Make sure of lack of leaks.
