Removal and installation of heads of cylinders

Before getting to work, wait for final cooling of the engine.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove GRM drive chains with asterisks (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a chain and asterisks of the GRM drive).

Try not to bring a bent shaft out of the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the first cylinder.

2. Moving as it should be the return shown on an illustration, turn out bolts of fastening of a back cover of the GRM drive.

3. Remove a back cover of the GRM drive from the engine.

If the cover "stuck" to any of heads or to the block, tap it the hammer through wooden whetstone. As a last resort cut through a layer of the stiffened sealant a shpatlevochny knife. In order to avoid violation of tightness of landing of components you do not make at all attempts to hook a cover the lever under the interfaced surface.

4. Remove the lower section of the inlet pipeline (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
5. Take from a head of cylinders camshafts and tolkateliklapan (see the Section Removal and installation of camshafts and pushers of valves).

6. Mark and remove from a head the remained components, such as unions of connection of hoses of a cooling path, tube, cables, lines of communication, etc.

7. By means of a prutkovy key of the corresponding size in stages (on 1/4 turns for approach) gradually weaken bolts of fastening of a head so that the possibility of their reversing manually appeared. In order to avoid deformation of a head weakening of fixture should be made as it should be, the return to an order of its tightening.

8. Remove a head from the block of cylinders. In case of need carefully hook the head which is not giving in to office mount under a casting ledge at the level of the interfaced surface.

9. Having removed external components from a head, prepare it for cleaning and check of a state.

The description of the procedure of check of a condition of a head of cylinders is provided in the Part the General capital repairs of the engine of the present Chapter.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The interfaced surfaces of a head and the block have to absolutely pure and dry.

2. Having scratched out the remains of material build laying and coal deposits, wipe surfaces with the rags moistened in acetone. Existence on the interfaced surfaces of traces of oil at the time of installation of a head can lead to violation of tightness of landing of laying and, as a result, - to development of leaks. Processing the block, a zakuporta of an opening of cylinders rags in order to avoid hit in them small garbage and various foreign objects (as a last resort, carefully vacuum cylinders).

3. Check the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block for existence of deep scratches, zadir and other damages. Easy defects can be eliminated by means of a fine-grained emery paper. In more serious cases the only alternative is the pro-point of components, or their replacement.
4. A tap of the suitable size banish carving openings under bolts of fastening of heads. Having finished a pro-race, blow openings compressed air.

During the work with the reaped air do not forget to put on goggles!

5. Estimate degree of a pulling of fixing bolts. If the difference of diameters measured in the specified points exceeds value of 0.11 mm, the corresponding bolt is subject to replacement. Serially clamping bolts, suitable for further application, in a vice for a head, walk on their carving lerky, - existence in rounds of a carving of old sealant, dirt and products of corrosion results in discrepancy of real effort of tightening of fixture to indications of the indicator of a dynamometer key.

6. Estimate degree of not planeness of a head (see the Part the General capital repairs of the engine of the present Chapter). Check also interfaced to the inlet pipeline and a final collector of a surface.
7. Install the external components removed from it on a head.
8. Clear a back cover of the GRM drive and bolts of its fastening of traces of old sealant

9. According to the specified scheme impose fresh RTV sealant on the interfaced cover surface. Enclose in the corresponding landing nests from the forward party of the block new sealing rings. Putting on the directing pins, press a back cover of the GRM drive to the surfaces of the block and heads of cylinders, then, moving in strictly certain order, screw and tighten fixing bolts with the required effort.

10. Enclose in a head camshafts and pushers of valves (see the Section Removal and installation of camshafts and pushers of valves). Establish GRM drive chains (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a chain and asterisks of the GRM drive). Further assembly is made as it should be the return to an order of dismantle of components.
11. If during service of a head replacement of components of the valvate mechanism was made, make adjustment of gaps of valves (see the Section Check and adjustment of gaps of valves).
12. Do not forget to fill the cooling system and to replace motive oil and an oil filter (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
13. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of leak of oil and cooling liquid. Estimate correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
