On all models equipped with RKPP one-disk coupling of dry type with a diaphragm spring is used. The nave of the frictional (conducted) clutch plate is equipped with the longitudinal vents entering gearing with vents of a pin of a main shaft of transmission. Frictional and press clutch plates keep in contact with each other due to the effort developed by a diaphragm spring of a press disk.

Switching off of coupling is made in the hydraulic way. The drive of switching off consists of a pedal of the coupling equipped with the tank of the main hydraulic cylinder, connecting lines and the executive cylinder, making impact on the coupling switching off lever and the release bearing.

When squeezing a pedal in a path of system the hydraulic pressure which resulting influence is put to the external end of the lever of switching off of coupling rises. At turn of the lever, fingers of its shaft rest against the release bearing which, in turn, being displaced, nestles on petals of a diaphragm spring of a press disk in a coupling basket. Being curved, the spring interrupts contact of the press and conducted disks, releasing the last.

At coupling service, besides replacement of the components having obvious mechanical damages it is necessary to make some primary checks (it is supposed that the transmission is in good repair):

a) First of all it is necessary to make sure of correctness of adjustment of a free wheeling and height of installation of a pedal of coupling, - in case of need make the corresponding adjustments (see the Section Adjustment of a Pedal of Coupling).
b) Estimate liquid level in the tank of the main hydraulic cylinder of coupling (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). In case of need make adjustment, having added the required amount of hydraulic liquid, and attentively examine system on existence of signs of leaks (see the Sections Removal and installation of the main cylinder of coupling and Removal and installation of the executive cylinder of coupling). At emptying of the tank of the main cylinder it is necessary to remove from a hydraulic path air traffic jams (see the Section Removal of Air from a hydraulic path of the drive of switching off of coupling), then to check serviceability of functioning of coupling;
c) For assessment of time of switching of coupling start the engine on normal turns of idling. Make sure that neutral transfer is included and release a coupling pedal. Now squeeze out a pedal of coupling and, having waited for several seconds, turn on the reverse gear. Switching should not lead to emergence of a gnash and other extraneous noises, with high degree of probability indicating malfunction of the conducted disk or assembly of a basket of coupling;
d) For check of completeness of switching off of coupling cock the parking brake and start the engine. Holding a coupling pedal at the height about 13 mm over a floor, a popereklyuchayta a box between the first and back transfers. Existence of hindrances when switching the lever speaks about malfunction of components of the mechanism of switching off. Estimate the size of the course of a pusher of the executive cylinder of coupling. At completely squeezed out pedal the pusher has to move forward at a noticeable size, otherwise it is necessary to check the level of hydraulic liquid in the main cylinder;
e) Make visual check of a condition of axial plugs in the top part of a pedal of coupling. Make sure of lack of signs of jamming and an excessive side play of an axis;
f) Having got under the car, make sure of durability of landing of the lever of switching off of coupling on a spherical finger of a spherical support.
