Check of a condition of components of a suspension bracket and steering drive

The condition of components of a suspension bracket and the steering drive has to be made regularly as their wear or damage can be the reason of reduction of service life of tires, lead to decrease in controllability of the car and increase in fuel consumption. Detailed illustrative material is presented also in the Head Podvesk and steering.

Shock-absorbers

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Park the car on the flat horizontal platform, whenever possible with a hard coating. Kill the engine and cock the parking brake. Check pressure of a rating of tires.
2. For assessment of a condition of shock-absorbers serially press one of car corners down. At a corner otpuskaniye the body has to come back to a starting position, making no more than one-two fluctuations. Listen to the scratch and other extraneous noises published by a suspension bracket at oscillating motions of a body. For more details see the Head Podvesk and steering.
3. Excessive quantity of raskachivaniye of a body at a corner otpuskaniye, as well as refusal of its return to a starting position, testify to need of replacement of shock-absorbers.
4. Working in a similar manner, serially check each of four shock-absorbers.
5. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.

6. Examine suspension bracket racks on existence of traces of leak of hydraulic liquid. Insignificant moistening of a rod should not cause special concern. At identification of noticeable potek it is necessary to try to define a leak source, - if it is the shock-absorber, he should be replaced complete with opposite.

7. Make sure of reliability of fastening of shock-absorbers and of lack of signs of their mechanical damages. Defective shock-absorbers are subject to replacement in pairs (forward or back).
8. The description of procedures of removal and installation of shock-absorbers is provided in the Head Podvesk and steering.

Components of the steering drive and suspension bracket

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Visually estimate a condition of components of the steering drive and suspension brackets (forward and back). Pay attention to such defects as cracks, dents, damage of rubber components, existence of traces of leak of hydraulic liquid, etc. Special attention should be paid to a condition of rubber-metal plugs by means of which the lower levers of a suspension bracket fasten to the car chassis.

2. Wipe the lower part of a rotary fist, ask the assistant to grasp a wheel in points on 12 and for 6 hours and to pull it in the perpendicular direction, - at the same time estimate density of landing of a spherical support of fastening of the lever of a suspension bracket in a fist. Existence of the slightest side play testifies to need of replacement of a support.

3. Grasp a wheel in points on 3 and for 9 hours and pull its edges in opposite directions. Existence of a little noticeable side play testifies to wear of components of the steering drive, - check a condition of the pendular lever and tips of steering drafts.

4. More detailed information and illustrative material on components of a suspension bracket and the steering drive are provided in the Head Podvesk and steering.

Protective covers of power shafts

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Speed of wear of CV JOINTS directly depends on a condition of protective covers of power shafts. Hit on a surface of covers of oil and lubricant leads to aging of rubber and a premature exit of components out of operation therefore it will be reasonable to wash out covers solution of soap water from time to time.

2. Check covers for existence of cracks and signs of leak of lubricant, - do not forget to move apart corrugation folds for survey of their inside. Defective covers are subject to replacement (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts).
