Check of a condition of components of a power supply system

It is worth to remember that gasoline is flammable liquid in the highest measure! At service of components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety. You do not smoke, do not approach the venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade. You do not make service of system in the room equipped with the heating devices using natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes). Do not forget that gasoline is among the cancerogenic substances promoting development of cancer - try not to allow hits of fuel on open parts of the body, use protective rubber gloves At casual unforeseen contact carefully wash out hands warm water with soap. Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuel and lubricants near sources of naked flame. Remember that the system of injection of fuel constantly is under pressure. Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure (for more details see the Head of the Power supply system and release). At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. At emergence in interior of the car of a smell of gasoline during the movement or after the long parking under direct sunshine it is necessary to make immediately careful survey of all components of a power supply system.
2. Uncover a jellied mouth of the fuel tank and check it for existence of damages and traces of corrosion. On all perimeter of sealing laying there has to undergo the continuous trace of dense pressing it to a tank mouth. In case of detection of defects replace laying.
3. Check lines of giving and return of fuel for existence of cracks, cuts and other mechanical damages. Check reliability of delay in nipple connections of metal lines and collars of fastening of fuel hoses.

All models considered in the present manual are equipped with system of injection of fuel, and therefore before disconnecting fuel lines or to remove any components of a power supply system, it is necessary to dump residual pressure in system (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).

4. As power supply systems, many of components (such as fuel tank and part of fuel pipes) are located under the car, for performance of check of their state it is necessary to lift the vehicle above the ground, having hung out it on the winch, having tired out on a platform, or having established on props. Take care of reliability of fixing of the car in the lifted situation.

5. Check the fuel tank and its jellied mouth for existence of punctures, cracks and other damages. Pay special attention to survey of the place of a joint of a mouth with a tank. Sometimes rubber of a mouth begins to pass fuel owing to weakening of fixing collars, or as a result of material aging. Here only those from possible problems which diagnostics and elimination of the reasons lies within qualification of the average amateur mechanic are listed.

Do not make attempt of independent repair of the fuel tank at all (except for replacement of its rubber components) - the contact contained even in carefully aired tank of residual fuel evaporations with a torch of a gas torch or any other source of an open flame can cause their detonation!

6. Attentively examine all rubber hoses and metal tubes of fuel lines going from a gasoline tank. Check a condition of material of tubes/hoses and reliability of fastening of all nipple connections. Also check the fuel pipes going to system of injection of fuel. Make necessary repair, replace defective components (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
