Replacement of ATF of automatic transmission and main transfer


1. Replacement of ATF has to be made on a regular basis, according to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car.
2. Prepare fresh transmission liquid of the corresponding grade (see Specifications at the beginning of the Head).
3. Other necessary performance for the forthcoming procedure of tools and materials treat number: props for fixing of the car in the lifted situation, a six-sided prutkovy key of the suitable size with a long collar, the drain capacity not less than 7.5 l and a stock of rags and/or old newspapers.
4. Liquid has to merge, being previously heated-up up to the normal working temperature during a short trip. Hot ATF has higher fluidity and better washes away slime and other deposits.

The worker temperaturaatf can reach 180 °C! Be careful, work in rubber gloves.

5. Having made a short trip and warming up of ATF up to the normal working temperature, park the car on the flat horizontal platform with a hard coating, and establish to its poddomkratta on props, having provided free access to a drain stopper of a case of transmission.
6. Get the drain capacity and all necessary stock under a transmission case. Try not to touch the warmed components of the power unit and system of production of the fulfilled gases located under the car bottom.

7. Having placed properly a reception container, turn out a drain stopper. Do not forget what at the first moment of ATF will begin to follow with a relative pressure which, in process of decrease of level of liquid, will gradually decrease, - be ready to correct as appropriate the provision of drain capacity in time. When the liquid effluence completely stops, wipe a drain stopper, screw it on the regular place and strongly tighten.

8. Turn out forward bolts of fastening of the pallet of a case of transmission, then weaken back and, having hooked the pallet the screw-driver, release ATF remains from AT case. Upon termination of a liquid effluence finally turn out the remained bolts and lower the pallet on the earth. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the filter, having omitted assembly down. Be careful, - in the filter inevitably there is a liquid quantity.

9. Establish new to the place of the removed filter.

10. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of a case of transmission and a landing flange of its pallet, having completely removed from them traces of material of old laying and sealant, wipe the internal surfaces of the pallet. Remembering adjusting provisions of components, remove protective magnets from the pallet, wash out them in solvent and dry compressed air (do not forget to put on goggles). Do not forget to install magnets on the former places in the pallet, previously having replaced laying.

11. Having replaced laying, install the pallet on the regular place and fix it by bolts, having screwed them in the former provisions and having tightened at first by hand. In stages, on 1/4 turns for approach, tighten fixture with the required effort, - be not overzealous!
12. Without starting the engine, take the measuring probe from a transmission case and through an opening in the directing tube fill in necessary amount of fresh liquid of the required grade (see Specifications). For the purpose of minimization of losses of ATF use a funnel. Fill in liquid in the small portions, periodically checking its level on the probe (see the Section Check of the ATF Level of Automatic Transmission). Do pauses, allowing the filled-in liquid to flow down on a pallet bottom.

At the beginning of the present chapter the volume of ATF is specified in Specifications taking into account the rotation converter. During the procedure described above all liquid which is not present at transmission therefore do not fill in in a case of more ATF merges, than from it it was merged. Constantly you watch the level of the added liquid (see the Section Check of a Condition of Components of the Cooling System).

13. Start the engine, then slowly carry out the selector lever through all provisions from "Р" to "L", then return it to an initial ("R") then cock the parking brake.
14. At the engine working at single turns check the ATF level in transmission, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment, having brought liquid level to the mark COOL in an edge of the measuring probe.
