Removal and installation of wheel cylinders

 In case of leaks wheel cylinders are subject to replacement without fail. Manufacturers do not recommend to make attempts of carrying out recovery repair of these knots of brake mechanisms. Replacement of wheel cylinders is always made in couple.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. A car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Prop up forward wheels antiretractable boots.
2. Remove the brake drum and boots (see the Section Replacement of Boots of Drum Brake Mechanisms of Back Wheels).
3. Clear the wheel cylinder and surfaces surrounding it of dirt.

4. Disconnect the hydraulic line from a back part of the wheel cylinder. At a detachment do not pull for a metal tube of the brake line in order to avoid its deformation capable it is essential to complicate the procedure of connection. Otdavany nuts should be made a special cap key with a cutting head. At once to a zakuporta the open end of the brake line for the purpose of minimization of losses of liquid and in order to avoid hit in hydraulic system of dirt.

5. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the wheel cylinder.
6. Remove the wheel cylinder from a brake board and transfer it to a pure workbench.

 If on frictional overlays of brake boots there are traces of hydraulic liquid, boots should be replaced, and carefully to smooth out the working surface of the reel.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the cylinder on the regular place and connect to it the hydraulic line (do not tighten still nipple nut). Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the required effort.
2. Now it is possible to tighten a nipple nut finally. Establish into place shoe assembly (see the Section Replacement of Boots of Drum Brake Mechanisms of Back Wheels).
3. Pump over the brake system (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Brake Lines and hoses). Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of wheels with the required effort (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
4. Before starting operation of the car, make sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes.
