Check of a state, removal and installation of a brake disk

 The procedure is equally applicable to disk brake mechanisms of both forward, and back wheels.

Check of a state


1. Weaken nuts of fastening of wheels, the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. Remove the corresponding wheel, then screw couple of wheel nuts back on fixing hairpins, having enclosed under them washers 3 mm thick for the purpose of fixing of a brake disk. When checking a disk of the back brake mechanism do not forget to release the parking brake.

2. Remove a brake support (see the Section Removal and installation of supports of disk brake mechanisms) and tie up it aside a wire to a suspension bracket element, without disconnecting a brake hose.

3. Make visual check of a condition of both working surfaces of a disk. Easy defects can be eliminated by means of a fine-grained emery paper. For removal of furrows more than 1.0 mm in depth the disk should be removed and subjected to a pro-point. Remember that the disk has to be examined from both of its parties.

4. If during braking pedal pulsations were noticed, it is necessary to estimate the size of a side beating of a brake disk. Fix the dial measuring instrument of plunger type (DTI) at distance about 12.7 mm from the outer edge of a disk. Nullify the device and begin to rotate a disk. The result of measurement should not exceed the limit of the admissible range stipulated in Specifications, otherwise the disk needs to be given to a pro-point.

 Authors of the present manual recommend to make a pro-point of disks regardless of their state for the purpose of removal from any working surfaces of defects. As a last resort it is possible to be limited to processing of a disk a fine-grained emery paper.

5. At a pro-point of a disk it is necessary to pay special attention to observance of requirements of Specifications to its minimum admissible thickness. On a face surface of a disk the corresponding marking is provided. Measurement of thickness of a disk is performed by means of a micrometer.



1. Turn out two fixing bolts and remove an anchor bracket of the brake mechanism.

2. Give wheel nuts, navernuty for fixing of a disk, and remove assembly of the last from a wheel nave. If the disk "stuck" and does not give in to removal, screw couple of long bolts of the corresponding size in fastenings of a wheel of an opening, carving between hairpins, and try to shift assembly by their gradual tightening.



1. Accurately put on a disk a nave (try not to damage wheel hairpins).
2. Put an anchor bracket of the brake mechanism on the regular place. Tighten bolts of fastening of a bracket with the required effort. Establish brake shoes.
3. Establish a support and tighten bolts of its fastening with the required effort.
4. Establish into place a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with the required effort (see Specifications to the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). Several times squeeze out a brake pedal / cock the lever of the parking brake for the purpose of shrinkage of blocks on a disk. If brake hoses were not disconnected, need for a prokachivaniye of hydraulic system is absent. Before starting operation of the car, make sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes.
