Check of a state and replacement of brake lines and hoses

Approximately time in half a year, having lifted the car, check all flexible hoses connecting steel tubes of hydraulic contours to brake mechanisms of wheels for existence of cracks, signs of damage of a protective cover, traces of leak of liquid, swellings and other damages. Hoses are a critical and most vulnerable component of the brake system therefore them it has to be examined with all care - use a pocket small lamp and a small mirror. At identification of any doubtful signs the suspected hose is subject to replacement.


Flexible brake hoses


1. Weaken nuts of fastening of wheels, the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. Remove wheels.

2. On a frame arm release the nipple socket of connection of a flexible hose to the rigid brake line.

 Otpuskaniye of nuts of nipple sockets in order to avoid a rounding off of their shlits should be made by means of a special cap key with a cutting head.

3. By means of flat-nose pliers take an U-shaped clamp and release a hose from an arm on a car frame.
4. For a hose detachment from a support of the brake mechanism turn out a hollow bolt of the nipple socket. Pay attention that on both sides of the socket is established on a copper sealing washer which at assembly are subject it is replaced without fail.
5. Remove an U-shaped clamp and release a hose from an arm on a suspension bracket rack.
6. For installation of a hose pass its corresponding union throughout an arm on a suspension bracket rack, then screw a hollow bolt of the nipple socket on a support (do not forget to replace sealing washers). Having made sure that the lock uvula of the nipple socket got to a reciprocal opening on the support case, tighten a hollow bolt with the required effort.
7. Push the metal holder in an arm on a rack and latch an U-shaped clamp. Make sure that the hose is not overwound on the site between a support and an arm of a rack.
8. Pass a hose throughout an arm on a car frame (again try not to allow twisting) and connect it to the union of the metal line. Establish a clamp and an E-shaped lock ring (at the corresponding complete set), then strongly tighten the socket.
9. Pump over a brake support (see the Section Pumping of the Brake System).
10. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of wheels with the required effort (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

Metal brake lines


1. When replacing rigid brake lines it is necessary to pay special attention to selection of replaceable components. It is not necessary to install to the hydraulic highway the brake system the copper tubes not capable to sustain the efforts developed in contours at all. Try to get company steel lines in representative offices of the company manufacturer of the car, - it is preferable to buy the sections which are already cut on length and equipped with nipple nozzles.
2. Rigid tubes of hydraulic lines are usually fixed on all length in special clamps. At removal of the line you watch that it was released from all clips. Do not forget to replace the failed clamps.
3. At installation of new steel lines you watch reliability of their fixing in all provided arms, collars and clips. Do not allow making of tubes excessively close from moving components of a suspension bracket and the steering drive.
4. Having finished installation of new sections of hydraulic lines, check liquid level in the GTTs tank. In case of need make the corresponding adjustment. Pump over the brake system (see the Section Pumping of the Brake System). Before starting operation of the car make sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes.
