Adjustment of the parking brake

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Some of the considered models are equipped with system of additional safety (SRS). Before starting service of the components located on proximity from safety cushions surely disconnect the SRS system (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).

1. At the correct adjustment of the parking brake the course of the lever of its drive when applying to the handle of moderate effort has to make 8 ÷ 10 clicks for models 1993 and 1994 of of the issue and 10 ÷ 11 clicks for models since 1995 the issue.
2. If the course of the lever makes less stipulated admissible number of clicks, the brake can not be released completely that is fraught with jamming of brake mechanisms. At excessively big course of the lever the parking brake can not provide sufficient reliability of keeping of the vehicle at the parking it on a bias.
3. For the purpose of ensuring access to the regulator of a driving cable of the parking brake remove assembly of the central console (see the Head Kuzov).

4. Rotation of an adjusting nut achieve the required lever course size. For pulling up of a cable the nut should be rotated clockwise, for easing - against.

5. Install into place the console (see the Head Kuzov).
