Replacement of brake shoes of disk brake mechanisms

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Replacement of brake shoes has to be made at the same time on both forward/back brake mechanisms. Remember that the dust produced in the course of operation of brake mechanisms may contain extremely unhealthy asbestos of the person. Do not blow off dust compressed air at all and do not inhale it, - at service of mechanisms put on a protective mask or a respirator. Do not use for rubbing of components of the brake system gasoline or solvents on an oil basis at all, - apply only company cleaners or methyl alcohol!

1. Uncover the tank of brake fluid. Pump out about 2/3 hydraulic liquids which is contained in it from the tank.
2. Weaken nuts of fastening of the corresponding wheels. A car front/back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props, prop up antiretractable boots the wheels standing on the earth.
3. Remove forward/back wheels.

 Replacement of all four blocks of brake mechanisms of both wheels of one axis has to be made at the same time. In order to avoid confusion work with each mechanism in an individual order, - the second in case of need can be used as an example at assembly.

4. Attentively examine a brake disk (see the Section Check of a State, removal and installation of a brake disk). In case of need performance of a pro-point, the disk also should be removed (see below).
5. When performing replacement of blocks of brake mechanisms of forward wheels follow the instructions given on illustrations below, - attentively study explanatory signatures to pictures.

Before dismantling the brake mechanism should be cleared carefully with application of special means, then to dry; do not blow off brake dust compressed air at all!

Wring out the piston in the support cylinder by means of a clamp (the basic end of a clamp is got for a support, screw - rests against an external brake shoe)

Turn out the lower bolt of fastening of a support (And); the top bolt (V) should be turned out only in a case when the support needs removal. A hollow bolt of nipple connection (C) is subject to an otdavaniye only for replacement of a support

Lift a support, having removed it from a brake disk

On models since 1995 of the issue remove antivizgovy springs

Take an internal brake shoe

Remove an external block

Remove an anchor bracket the top and lower holders of blocks

Remove adjusting slips from blocks

Wipe the directing support finger, examine it on existence of zadir and traces of development of corrosion, then grease with refractory lubricant and establish on the regular place in an anchor bracket

Establish adjusting overlays for blocks

Grease with antivizgovy structure reverse sides of both blocks, let's structure stiffen within several minutes

Establish the top and lower holders of blocks

Establish an internal block (this block is equipped with the wear indicator)

Establish an external block

On models since 1995 establish to the issue antivizgovy springs, then (on all models) lower a support, screw the lower fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort.

 If it is not possible to put on a support blocks, wring out the piston in the cylinder by means of a clamp.

6. The procedure of replacement of blocks on back disk brake mechanisms is stated in illustrations below.

Having cleared assembly of brake dust, release a clamp of a cable of the parking brake(s) and disconnect a cable from the executive lever. On models since 1995 turn out the issue the top bolt of a support (A) (on earlier models turn out a bolt C); a hollow bolt of nipple connection (C) is subject to an otdavaniye only for replacement of a support

Remove a support from a brake disk and brake shoes placed in an anchor bracket; take an internal block

Remove an external block

Remove the top and lower holders of blocks

Remove antivizgovy springs from a support and attentively check their state; in case of identification of cracks or other mechanical damages replace springs

Remove adjusting slips from blocks

Wipe the directing support finger, examine it on existence of zadir and traces of development of corrosion, then grease with refractory lubricant and establish on the regular place in an anchor bracket

Establish adjusting overlays for blocks

Grease with antivizgovy structure reverse sides of both blocks, let's structure stiffen within several minutes

Establish the top and lower clamps of blocks

Establish an external block

Establish an internal block

Rotating the piston, drown it in the support cylinder (use special adaptation - ask in shops of automobile accessories, as a last resort it is possible to use nippers). Lower a support in regular situation, return a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort, then connect a driving cable of the parking brake to the executive lever of the brake mechanism

7. At assembly track that the fixing bolt was tightened with the required effort.
8. Having finished assembly, several times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake for shrinkage of new blocks on disks. Check the level of brake fluid, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). Before starting normal operation of the car, make sure also serviceability of functioning of the brake system.
