Removal and installation of covers of heads of cylinders



1. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

3. Mark and disconnect candle wires.
4. Remove the ignition distributor (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
5. Remove the top section of the inlet pipeline (the delivery camera) (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
6. Release and shift a fixing collar, then disconnect a ventilating hose (a branch pipe of a sapun) from a cover of a head of cylinders.
7. Disconnect all other hoses and plaits of an electrical wiring preventing removal of a cover.

8. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the washers established under their heads.

9. Uncover a head of cylinders.

If the cover "stuck" and does not give in to separation from a head of cylinders, accurately tap it on perimeter the hammer through wooden whetstone. In especially hard cases the layer of the dried-up sealant can be knifed shpatlevochny, - try to hook a cover the lever started under its interfaced surface as damage of the last can lead to development of leaks by no means.



1. The interfaced surfaces of heads of cylinders and their covers have to be absolutely pure and dry. By means of a scraper remove all traces of old sealant and fragments of the destroyed laying, then wipe surfaces with the rags moistened in acetone. Presence on the interfaced surfaces of traces of oil can lead to development of leaks.
2. In case of need banish a carving of fixing bolts a suitable lerka, restoring the damaged rounds and deleting a rust and traces of old sealant. A tap of the corresponding size banish carving openings in a head.
3. Fill a flute on the interfaced cover surface with RTV sealant, then lay new sealing laying over sealant. Let's sealant dry up and record a little thereby laying on a cover.
4. Accurately press a cover to a head of cylinders and screw fixing bolts.
5. In three-four stages tighten bolts with the required effort.
6. Further assembly is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
7. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leaks.
