General information

Authors of the present manual do not recommend to owners of cars to undertake performance of capital repairs of AT independently. During performing procedures of dismantling and assembly of transmission it is necessary to remove, and then to install into place a set of small components. It is necessary to perform a lot of the most exact measurements and, by selection of adjusting washers, rings and remote plugs, accurately to expose a set of gaps. In view of all aforesaid, performance of capital repairs of AT will be more reasonable to be charged to specialists of car service. Let's notice that in many cases there is an opportunity on an exchange basis to buy the restored block that is often cheaper, than carrying out complex repair.

Despite the told, independent performance of repair of AT by the amateur mechanic is not absolutely impossible action at all. Indispensable conditions are only existence of the necessary special tool and accuracy in approach to implementation of all procedures.

Nippers for removal of internal and external lock rings, a stripper of bearings, the hammer with sliding brisk, a set of drifts and center punches, the DTI measuring instrument and, perhaps, a hydraulic press are among tools, necessary for performance of recovery repair of AT. Besides, of course, the workbench, or the special assembly stand is required strong, equipped with a vice.

During performing procedures of dismantling of AT try to remember, and it is better to write down, an order of installation of each of the removed details.

Before starting dismantling of transmission, it will be reasonable to try to analyse symptoms of its refusals for the purpose of approximate definition of their reasons. Many refusals are unambiguously connected with failure of quite certain components. See also Section devoted to diagnostics of malfunctions of AT at the beginning of the Management.

The schematic description of an order of procedures of dismantling of AT and service of its internal components is provided in the following subsection.

Dismantling, service of the AT internal components

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On illustrations schemes of an arrangement of the AT internal components and functioning of hydraulic system are submitted.
2. Merge ATF (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

3. Remove the rotation converter.

4. Remove the operating cylinder.

5. Uncover valvate assembly.

6. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the operating valve and remove valvate assembly

7. Disconnect a terminal plait.

 The plait is laid rather deeply and can be hooked at a pulling - try not to make excessive efforts. At a pulling bend a plait inside and push it outside. Do not pull assembly for a wire.

8. Remove the hydroaccumulator.

9. Remove a side cover.

10. Remove an output gear wheel.

11. By means of a stripper take an intermediate gear wheel.

12. Remove a parking latch, a returnable spring and a pin with laying.

13. Remove speedometer drive components.

14. Remove a regulator shaft.

15. Establish assembly of AT on a bar and remove a rotation converter casing.

16. Remove assembly of the main transfer.

17. After removal of ring consolidation take a main shaft from a converter casing.

18. Remove a mesh oil filter.

19. Pick up the phone of supply of lubricant in differential.

20. Weaken a nut of a rod clamp of a tape brake, then turn out a core from the piston.

21. Shoot the brake film, take a clutch coupling of the raising transfers and knot of the coupling of turning on of the reverse gear.

22. In order to avoid damage of frictional overlays of a drum brake try not to stretch a flexible strip excessively. At removal of a brake tape you hold it for a bracket. After removal of a tape lower a bracket in a starting position.

23. Remove the obgonny coupling, the forward fastener, the back fastener and the coupling of the lowering transfer.

24. Remove clutch couplings of the lowered and back transfers, disconnect a persistent ring of a clamp of a brake of the lowered and back transfers.

25. By supply of compressed air remove the piston of a brake of towage and the reverse gear.

26. Remove assembly of a separator.

27. Remove a persistent ring of the servomotor.

28. Remove the servomotor of the drive of a tape brake and a returnable spring.

29. Weaken lock-nuts of a shaft of manual control and remove a plate of the manual drive.

30. Take a pin and remove a shaft of manual control.
