Identifikatsonny numbers of the car

Improvement of products is continuous process of any line production. At the same time, except for cases of large changes of a design of the models descending from the conveyor, results of process of modification are not covered in the operation manual on the car. However the manufacturer makes out number lists of the released spare parts in view of what upon purchase of the last information coded in identification numbers of the car is of particular importance. Doing the order for the required spare detail, try to provide to the seller fuller information on the car. Surely report the name of model, year of release, and also number of a body and the power unit.

Identification number of the car (VIN)

This, extremely important on the value, number is beaten out on the metal plate (Schild) fixed on the dashboard under a windshield from the driver's party of the car. VIN is also brought in PTS and the registration certificate of the vehicle. In a code of number information on date and the place of production of the car, year of release of model and type of a body is ciphered.

The most important components of VIN are codes of a series of the engine and year of release of model.

The code of the engine is presented by the letter standing on number position fourth at the left:

N = VG30DE SOHC V6 (1993 ÷ 1994)
Е = VE30DE DOHC V6 (1993 ÷ 1994)
With = VQ30DE DOHC V6 (since 1995)

Year of release is ciphered in the letter taking the tenth position of VIN:

Р = 1993
R = 1994
S = 1995
T = 1996

Information Schild in a motive compartment of the car

Metal Schild with information on the engine, transmission, a paint and varnish covering and type of a body of the car of a priklepan to a partition of a motive compartment of the car. Usually Schild fastens in the left part of a partition, but also the probability of placement it on the center is not excluded.

Identification number of the chassis

Identification number of the chassis is beaten out directly on a partition of a motive compartment, in its central part. Number contains information on purpose of model, the made modifications and transmission.

Certified label

The certified label is pasted on an end face of a driver's door of the car and contains such information on the vehicle as the name of the producer, month and year of release, nominal mass gross (GVWR), the maximum permissible load on axes, and also the text of the certified agreement.

Identification number of the engine is beaten out at the left on the block, near transmission.

Number of the engine

Identification number of the engine is beaten out in the left part of the block of the engine near transmission.

Number of transmission

Number of transmission is beaten out from above on a transmission dome. On some models number can be also put on Schild, pasted on a forward wall of a case of transmission.

Information label of systems of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases (VECI)

VECI label usually fastens to the lower party of a cowl, or is pasted on the top basic beam of a radiator (see Chapter 6). The label included information on the systems of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases used on the car, and also specification data on settings of the engine.
